So lost in the shuffle of yesterday’s...other...assorted news, word leaked out that LSU’s 2017 Spring Game will officially be on a Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium:
The Tigers' spring game April 22 will begin at 7 p.m. and be televised by SEC Network, ESPN announced Tuesday in a schedule released on its website. A source confirmed the kickoff time to The Advocate, but the school has not announced the time.
It will be LSU's first prime-time spring game kickoff in years. The spring game is normally an afternoon affair. It has kicked off at 3 p.m. or earlier since at least 2009.
LSU has been trying to drive up spring game attendance for years. Will this move work for you? Baseball will be at Kentucky that weekend, although softball is set for a 6 p.m. first pitch against Tennessee in Tiger Park (that may change to create a double-header).
Spring practice opens on March 11.
