LSU’s superstar tailback is off the board, as the Jacksonville Jaguars select Leonard Fournette with the fourth-overall in the NFL Draft tonight.
It may not be the best situation in terms of an overall team, but Fournette will step right in to help Blake Bortles on offense, and he’ll likely get a ton of carries.
It feels like destiny for Fournette. He was the No. 1 tailback in the recruiting class of 2014, came to LSU with unprecedented expectations and met them to the tune of 3,830 yards and 42 total touchdowns. His 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns as a sophomore stands as the best season in school history. Even in a limited role in 2016, due to a nagging ankle injury, he still managed to rush for more than 100 yards four times, including a school single-game record 284 yards on just 16 carries against Ole Miss.
Good luck Leonard. We’ll always have the memories...
