LSU Lands Transfer Wideout Jonathan Giles

Former Texas Tech receiver will be eligible in 2018.

LSU locked up its third transfer player of the 2017 offseason, and second from Texas Tech as wide receiver Jonathan Giles announced that he would land in Baton Rouge.

Giles was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award last season after leading the Red Raiders with 69 catches for 1,158 and 13 touchdowns. Giles joins former Texas Tech Breiden Fehoko, who transferred in earlier this year.

He’d been reported to be visiting campus next month, but it seems Giles decided to get his decision out of the way sooner. Giles selected the Tigers over Ohio State, Florida State, Louisville, Georgia, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Purdue, SMU and Oregon. He’ll have to sit out the 2017 season, per NCAA restrictions, and be eligible for the 2018 season. With D.J. Chark set to graduate, he’ll instantly be LSU’s most experienced option.
