LSU kicks off regional action against the Tigers from Texas Southern

Adam Henderson

Postseason baseball at the Box is one of LSU’s best traditions and at 2:30 that tradition will extend to another year when LSU opens up the Baton Rouge Regional against the Texas Southern Tigers.

Texas Southern had a pretty dismal season but caught fire in the SWAC tournament and came away with the conference’s automatic bid. Texas Southern holds the worst RPI out of all the tournament teams at 267 out of 299 teams. LSU has won both prior matchups between the two schools, one of which coming in the 2008 Baton Rouge Regional.

Texas State steals often, putting up 104 steals on the season. Poche’ will have to limit the baserunners during the game and keep a watchful eye on those that do reach base.
