It’s a rare weekend with no football-like action on Sunday, mostly because the CFL has pushed a game to Monday Night. It’ll even be on ESPN2!
The special guest this weekend is the championships of the Women’s Football Alliance. The WFA runs 3 divisions of women’s football in cities all over the US. It’s a spring and summer league, with the championships being this weekend in Pittsburgh. An all-star group of this league made up the roster of the US Women’s National Team that won the championship against Canada that we told you about last week. The two lower divisions will have their championship games on Friday, streamed online, while their top division championship between Dallas and Boston will play in W Bowl II, live on ESPN3 on Saturday night.
Otherwise, the usual cohorts of semi-football product are back again. Plenty of NRL and Super Rugby to be found, as well as the AFL game of the week on Friday night. Arena football is still all by itself on CBS Sports Net, with the 31st, and potentially last ever Arena Bowl just a few weeks away.
