Summer attrition continues for the Tigers, with news that sophomore defensive end/outside linebacker Isaiah Washington will be leaving the LSU program.

Washington saw the field as a true freshman out of Edna Karr High School, and looked primed for a bigger role in Dave Aranda’s 3-4 as a sculpted, prototypical outside linebacker, but a knee injury ended his 2016 season early. In the spring, he seemed to struggle with trusting the rebuilt knee, and languished behind Andre Anthony, Ray Thornton and Sci Martin at the Buck linebacker position — all of which is behind superstar Arden Key anyway.
Still, a very classy statement from Washington on his way out, and we wish him well in his future endeavors.
