Four-Star Receiver Ja’Marr Chase Poised to Make College Choice

Louisiana receiver set to choose between LSU and TCU.

Student Sports

One of the top prospects in Louisiana, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase of Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, will verbally commit tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT, on the NFL Network as part of Nike’s The Opening.

Chase is a 6-1, 195-pound four-star prospect that will decide between LSU and the TCU Horned Frogs. Most recruiting insiders have his current commitment as anybody’s guess, although some believe that a strong offensive season from the Tigers under Matt Canada, plus family pressure, will eventually push him to Baton Rouge regardless of tonight’s decision.

In addition to LSU and TCU, Chase has offers from major programs like Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Auburn, etc... 247 Sports’ composite ranking rates him as the No. 6 player in the state of Louisiana for 2018, and the 195th prospect in the country.

We will update this post when word gets out.

**Ed. Note: Per recruiting reporters, Chase is no longer making his announcement tonight. Seems that a programming snafu led to the NFL Network pre-empting his segment, and Chase only held his decision for that TV audience. More on this as it develops.**
