Hope y’all had a good Fourth!

NCAA Baseball: College World Series-LSU vs Oregon State Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

Here’s hoping everybody had a great Fourth yesterday, but, let’s take a look at what’s going on at LSU right now.

The football team may very well be sporting a new look next season. In some photos on Derrius Guice’s Twitter, the uniforms looked a little different.

LSU target and four-star wide receiver JaMarr Chase was expected to announce his commitment Monday, but has now said he will delay his decision. He’s expected to go with either TCU or LSU.

Why is that such a hard decision? We may never fully understand.

**Ed. Note: it appears the NFL Network will try to make good on their coverage for Chase.

The other major in-state receiver target, Terrace Marshall, landed on SB Nation Recruiting’s All-Opening team.

In gymnastics, head coach D-D Breaux and associate head coach Jay Clark were inducted into Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and USA Gymnastics Region 8 Hall of Fame respectively.

On the basketball side of things, senior forward Duop Reath will be headed to the Tai Pei to take part in the 29th World University Games. He will be a part of a 12-man Australia Emerging Boomers team.

Last season’s star baseball players are doing big things as well, with Greg Deichmann and Jared Poche’ signing with the Oakland A’s.

Deichmann struck a $1.7 million deal, while details of Poche’s contract have not yet been made public.

Next year’s presumptive ace starter, Eric Walker, will meet with a specialist on Thursday to learn more about the nature of the arm soreness that took him out of the College World Series. In other news, outfielder Antoine Duplantis will don No. 8, and there are some efforts underway to beef up the schedule a bit as well.
