Following a solid 75-54 victory over Arkansas, the Tigers (11-4, 2-1) will attempt to stay hot when Alabama (10-6, 2-2) visits the PMAC. A much-improved LSU team will be looking to add a third conference victory to their resume for this season.
Alabama snapped their two-game losing streak with a win against South Carolina on Tuesday, and will be looking to continue that trend into tonight.
KenPom currently ranks Alabama at No. 54 overall on the list with the No. 39 defense, and LSU a bit above them at No. 49 with the No. 27 offense.
This matchup is expected to be a very close one. Alabama’s top priority will be finding a way to handle point guard Tremont Waters. For LSU, the focus will be on containing star freshman point guard Collin Sexton.
Seeing these two on the same court will be especially interesting, given that Waters leads the SEC in assists (6.1) and steals (2.3) per game, while Sexton leads the conference in scoring (19.5 points per game).
LSU has the momentum going into this contest, and the PMAC is expected to be packed. They’re the slight favorites this game, though it would be no surprise to see Avery Johnson’s team pull it off.
