With the Tigers’ big home win over Alabama from last week, two Tigers were honored by the Southeastern Conference, with junior Sarah Finnegan named gymnast of the week and freshman Sami Durante honored as freshman of the week.
Durante came through the a 9.90 on the uneven bars, the highest score in that event by any newcomer in the conference this season:

Finnegan was the meet’s top all-around performer, and set new career highs on vault with a 9.90 and as the uneven bars anchor with a 9.975.
This marks the second consecutive week a Tiger has been honored by the SEC, after Myia Hambrick was named gymnast of the week last week. The second-ranked Tigers will travel to Fort Worth, Texas to take on No. 4 UCLA, No. 14 Washington and No. 28 NC State at 6:45 p.m. CT Saturday.
