More very sad news for the LSU football team on Wednesday night, with reports that cornerback Kary Vincent’s father, Kary Vincent Sr., has passed away at age 49 in Port Arthur, Texas.
Per this report, Vincent had battled a persistent pneumonia that had even put him in a coma at one point in recent months. Vincent Sr. was a former defensive back and receiver himself with Texas A&M and the New Orleans Saints, and had been a teacher and coach in Port Arthur.
Vincent left the following messages on social media
I love you daddy

Vincent has been preparing with the Tigers for the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, where he would be set for a major role with starting cornerbacks Greedy Williams and Kristian Fulton both ruled out. This, obviously, could put his playing status in question. Although obviously, our thoughts and prayers are with the Vincent family right now during this difficult time.
