LSU failed to closed out the 2018 recruiting class with a key final addition, as four-star athlete Mario Goodrich of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, signed with Clemson.
Ranked 114th in the nation overall, and fourth as an athlete, Goodrich was the subject of a heated recruiting battle down the stretch between the Tigers, Georgia and Clemson. Goodrich had been a Nebraska commitment for a while, but re-opened his recruitment this fall as more of the nation’s top programs came calling. The Tigers had settled on Goodrich or quarterback James Foster for the final open spot in the 2018 class, but Clemson. was able to close the deal late with a big official visit last week, making Goodrich a major priority.
At 6-2 and 180 pounds, Goodrich is listed as an athlete recruit and had offers to play both receiver and defensive back from different programs.
