Russell Gage surprised many this year by climbing the depth chart and becoming the no. 2 WR on the team behind DJ Chark. The Baton Rouge native was a late take in the 2014 signing class, initially coming to LSU as a DB. His athleticism always stood out via his insane ability to leap over defenders in a single bound.
Gage looks like a nice utility piece at the next level and still has some growth to do at the WR position. Nice upside pick!
LSU fans will stay familiar with Gage, as he’s headed to the NFC South and the Atlanta Falcons, after getting picked in the 6th round, 194th overall. Frankly, I think I speak for all of us when I say I look forward to seeing Gage leap over hapless Saints defenders on a regular basis.
Best of luck Russell!
