In a mild shock, the New England Patriots kicked off the 7th round of the NFL draft by selecting QB Danny Etling.
Etling rose to the starting job in the fall of 2016, after QB Brandon Harris struggled in the opening weeks of the season. Etling proved competent and held off a QB competition this past offseason, securing the spot and leading LSU under new OC Matt Canada.
Etling seemed to lack the physical tools of a high end starter, but he won fans over with his toughness and competence, a welcome site at the QB position.
Now he’s off to the NFL, handsome as ever.
Good luck, Danny!
