LSU’s road back to the College World Series will take an unusual detour, with the Tigers heading to Corvallis, Oregon, for a first-round NCAA Regional, as announced earlier today.
LSU will join top seed and host Oregon State, along with third-seeded San Diego State and fourth-seeded Northwestern State, with the Tigers facing the Aztecs in the regional opener on Friday at 3 p.m. CST.

With just a 37-25 record this year, there was little chance of the Tigers hosting in round one for the umpteenth year in a row, but last week’s incredible run through Hoover likely helped this draw somewhat.
