LSU received some promising news for the future of the quarterback position, with today’s announcement that Louisiana quarterback TJ Finley gave his verbal commitment tonight for the class of 2020.

Finley, from Ponchatoula, currently projects as a four-star, top-10 prospect in the 247 Sports rankings, with offers from Alabama, Auburn and Georgia, among others, as a rising junior in high school.
The 6-6, 225-pound Finley had originally attracted LSU’s attention as a freshman in high school, with a verbal offer from Cam Cameron. But Ed Orgeron and LSU’s current staff recently made him a priority for the 2020 cycle, and re-iterated his underclassmen offer at a camp at Tulane over Memorial Day Weekend.
Finley completed 115 out of 223 passes for 1,883 yards with 14 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2017, but with a massive frame and an impressive offer sheet, he’s obviously a prospect a lot of coaches feel has potential in the long-term. I’ll go ahead and skip the film study this time around, as with a sophomore in high school there just isn’t a ton to analyze as of yet.
Still, it’s nice to (hopefully) get the quarterback situation for a future class squared away.
