WATCH: Ed Orgeron Speaks to Baton Rouge Rotary Club

Coach O regales crowd in annual summer LSU coach tradition.

NCAA Football: SEC Football Media Day Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The annual end-of-summer tradition of the LSU head coach speaking to the Baton Rouge Rotary Club today went down, with Coach O acquitting himself pretty well:

There’s the personality we’ve come to enjoy about Orgeron, with a few actual newsy-type items:

  • Defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko will take over as nose tackle, with Glenn Logan taking over the other end spot opposite Rashard Lawrence. Ed Alexander is still trying to get through some injuries.
  • Tight end Jamal Pettigrew will miss the season due to a knee injury.
  • Safety Grant Delpit and left tackle Saahdiq Charles will be full-speed for the start of camp.
  • Nose tackle Tyler Shelvin is reportedly down to a “skinny” 354 pounds (down from 390) and will also be ready to go for fall practices.

In other news, do not take Coach O’s fishing advice:

The Tigers report for training camp on Saturday.
