The 33-17 win over Miami let the coaching staff and the players express a lot of built-up confidence they seem to have carried in themselves for most of the preseason camp, as you’ll see in the postgame interviews below.

Still lots of work ahead though. QB Joe Burrow rated himself as just “ok.”

Coach O didn’t have any injury info to update on OL Adrian Magee or OLB K’Lavon Chaisson after the game. Hopefully we’ll get an update at the press luncheon today.

For their performances, which included tying the LSU record for field goal distance and LSU’s first pick six in 2 years, FG Cole Tracy and LB Jacob Phillips were named SEC Players of the Week.

LSU held a big fundraising event in Dallas on Friday with nearly every coach at LSU not in the middle of a season in attendance. This led to a few newsworthy items for basketball and baseball. Will Wade is hoping that the influx of talent in this year’s recruiting class will help his offense move away from “Tre and pray.” Mainieri gave a scouting report on some of the new arms on the roster and let everyone know that Zach Watson injured his hand, but should be ready for fall ball practice in late September.
