Tigers take a big leap.

Before the season, we kindly asked you to participate in SB Nation’s FanPulse weekly rankings. This is basically a poll voted on by you, the fans, instead of stuffy old sportswriters, which allows for more insight into how the common fan feels about the current season.

Fan confidence among LSU fans remains a triple digit number following the two-touchdown victory over Florida. Keep in mind that this is just based on a yes/no answer to to the question “Are you confident in the direction of the football program” and 20 other teams came back with 100% confidence.

  • LSU takes the leap from #5 to #2 after their second Top-10 victory of the season.
  • Alabama, whose best win is arguably Texas A&M on Saturday, remains at the top.
  • Florida only falls three spots, feeding into the narrative that the Gators played well but LSU is just the far superior team/offense.
  • What is interesting is that they are far enough behind to be ranked behind Auburn when I thought that game was pretty much the same thing as we saw in Death Valley: one team being just a step better.
  • Georgia falls from #4 to #9, which is about what I assumed the fall would be like.
  • Three G5 teams ranked: Boise State @ #13, SMU @ #17, App State @ #24. UCF unranked.
  • Voting LSU #1: Auburn (love u, College and Mag), ATVS, and TCU.
  • Nobody voted LSU outside of the Top 4.

Here’s how you voted:

  1. LSU (6-0)
  2. Alabama (6-0)
  3. Ohio State (6-0)

Bonus round:

Rub your eyes if you must, but they’re not deceiving you. Yes, the populace of And The Valley Shook are saying that they would hand the Heisman to LSU Quarterback Joe Burrow if they had the choice. What a world. What a time to be alive.
