LSU retains their title as the people’s champ

Before the season, we kindly asked you to participate in SB Nation’s FanPulse weekly rankings. This is basically a poll voted on by you, the fans, instead of stuffy old sportswriters, which allows for more insight into how the common fan feels about the current season.

After throttling Texas A&M 50-7 on Saturday night, confidence shoots back up to 100% from 97.4% heading into the weekend. And why shouldn’t it be? For the second time ever LSU is 12-0 and heading into an SEC Championship game against Georgia. And last time that happened, it worked out pretty well.

  • Despite losing to them, Alabama slides all the way to 9th and in front of Auburn.
  • However, the Tigers of the plains variety bump up from #13 to #10.
  • Minnesota loses and takes the fall from #10 to #17.

  • In case you thought the SEC dominance was over: five of the top 10 are members are conference mates. And remember, this is an aggregate of every fanbase’s vote.
  • As such, there is only one conference championship game that is a Top-10 meeting, folks.
  • After beating Cincinnati, Memphis holds on to the top G5 spot, but actually move back. It’s a hard knock life.
