Ed Orgeron Recaps Day 1 of Fall Practice

Receiver Dee Anderson suspended for now.

LSU’s first practice moved outside due to some rain late Friday afternoon, but Coach O recapped things after the fact. The biggest news to come out of that presser is the suspension of senior receiver Dee Anderson — sadly not his first. Orgeron references a “conditioning issue,” which likely means that he has some punishment running to complete before he can return.

While yet another discipline issue likely further moves Anderson down in the receiving pecking order with so many underclassmen, I would imagine he’ll be back on the practice field eventually.

Tight end Stephen Sullivan also missed the first day while celebrating his graduation on Friday. A good excuse for a young man that is the first college graduate in his family.

Tiger Rag’s practice report had an interesting look at the offense’s first look — although this could clearly change a lot before the Georgia Southern game:

LT: Saahdiq Charles
LG: Adrian Magee
C: Lloyd Cushenberry (Wearing his new No. 18 jersey)
RG: Damien Lewis
RT: Austin Deculus

QB: Joe Burrow
RB: Clyde Edwards-Helaire
TE: Thaddeus Moss
WR: Justin Jefferson
WR: Ja’Marr Chase
WR: Terrace Marshall

Thad Moss’s presence is a bit of a surprise. After he missed all of the 2018 season with various mysterious ailments that never seemed to heal, many wondered if he were just a figment of various imaginations.
