Cornerback Dwight McGlothern Commits to LSU

Tigers pick up a four-star cornerback from Texas.

SB Nation Recruiting

LSU added a cornerback recruit to replace the loss of Major Burns with four-star cornerback Dwight McGlothern out of Klein, Texas. McGlothern announced his decision at the U.S. Army All-American Game today.

McGlothern had a bit of a strange recruitment. The 6-2, 180-pound prospect is a composite four-star recruit, but has seen his rankings tumble since originally positioning himself as one of the top players in this cycle as an underclassmen. He was originally tabbed as a potential five-star prospect early in 2019, but is now listed as the 25th cornerback in the composite, and just a three-star in 247’s own rankings.

He’s had offers from every major program, but his recruitment has recently centered on programs that have spots in need of filling on National Signing Day Classic . LSU surged in late and was able to snag the commitment. It fits a need after letting Burns walk in December.
