Good morning, welcome to week seven of the NFL season.
Rumor has it there was a professional football game Thursday night between two alleged pro teams, the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. I have my doubts that these two teams are true professionals and not rebranded XFL or AAF teams, because a real pro quarterback, like the one employed by the Giants, doesn’t do this:
Sad. TJ Finley would NEVER.
LIONS at FALCONS 12:00 P.M., FOX
Well the Falcons got their first win of 2020 last week, beating Justin Jefferson and the Vikings. Speaking of Jefferson, that young man continues to excel in Minnesota, hauling in nine grabs for 164 yards and two scores last week.
BROWNS at BENGALS 12:00 P.M., CBS
Burrow-Baker II. Did you know Joe Burrow has covered every single week this year? God help me I’m going to start betting on the Bengals, surely this won’t ever come back to haunt me.
STEELERS at TITANS 12:00 P.M., CBS
The best game of the day, we have a pair of 5-0 teams going at it. Remember this game was postponed from week four due to the Titans COVID situation. We now have to keep an eye on the Steelers, as Jerald Hawkins has logged a handful of snaps for Pittsburgh the past two weeks.
PANTHERS at SAINTS 12:00 P.M., FOX
Donte Jackson had a pair of tackles and a pass breakup in Carolina’s loss to the Bears last week. As for the Saints, Will Clapp has now ping ponged his way back on to the roster. Evan and I made an executive decision to just permanently keep Clapp on the Saints until the end of days.
BILLS at JETS 12:00 P.M., CBS
Look just don’t watch the Jets.
COWBOYS at WASHINGTON FOOTBALL TEAM 12:00 P.M., FOX
Saahdiq Charles finally got on the field for Washington last week only to exit the game and be placed on the IR. It’s a shame, but Yahoo reports the injury isn’t expected to be season ending.
PACKERS at TEXANS 12:00 P.M., FOX
No LSU players no care. Skip!
BUCCANEERS at RAIDERS 3:05 P.M., FOX
This was originally scheduled to be the week seven Sunday Night game on NBC but got flexed out for whatever reason. The Bucs looked good last week, obliterating the Packers 38-10. Devin White had 10 tackles and a sack, but it doesn’t look like Leonard Fournette ever saw the field for Tampa.
CHIEFS at BRONCOS 3:25 P.M., CBS
Clyde Edwards-Helaire sent a message to his own team last week against Buffalo: if Le’Veon Bell wants my job he’ll have to take it from me. Clyde had his best game of the year against the Bills, getting 26 carries for 161 yards—both career-highs—including a season-long 31 yard scamper.
49ERS at PATRIOTS 3:25 P.M., CBS
This would be a lot more enticing if the 49ers signed Tom Brady.
JAGUARS at CHARGERS 3:25 P.M., CBS
Justin Herbert looked good against the Saints two Monday nights ago, but the Chargers continued to Charger and blew it. Here’s hoping K’Lavon Chaisson can make Herbert look less good.
SEAHAWKS at CARDINALS 7:20 P.M., NBC
Jamal Adams is out but there’s still plenty of LSU representation on national television. Damien Lewis and Ethan Pocic continue to start for the Seahawks, while Patrick Peterson is now in year nine with Arizona. We won’t see Rashard Lawrence however; he was placed on IR October 17 with a calf injury. Like Saahdiq Charles in Washington, it’s not expected to be a season ending injury.
BEARS at RAMS, Monday October 26, 7:15 P.M., ESPN
Hey look, another good Monday night game on ESPN.
