After picking up a 41-7 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores, your Fightin’ Tigers of LSU moved up three spots in this week’s AP Poll checking in at No. 17.
It was the first win for Myles Brennan as a starting quarterback who threw for 337 yards and four touchdowns, two to Terrace Marshall and the other two to Jontre Kirklin.
The LSU secondary was markedly better, holding Vanderbilt’s true freshman quarterback Ken Seals to 113 yards. Seals completed 44 percent of his passes and threw two interceptions. Crazy what having the best defensive player in football, Derek Stingley Jr., does for you, huh?
The top-six teams in this week’s poll—Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Notre Dame and Ohio State—are the same as last week, though Georgia and Florida flip flopped after Georgia beat Auburn 27-6 in Athens.
Four teams dropped out of the Top 25: Oklahoma, Mississipppi State, Pitt and UCF. They were replaced by Virginia Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, Iowa State and Minnesota.
