NFLSU Gamethread: Week 10

Joe Burrow is in danger

Good morning, welcome to week 10 of the NFL season.

Week 10 brings about the matchup I’ve dreaded most for Joe Burrow this whole time: Pittsburgh. Sure there are better teams overall than Pittsburgh, but few are more effective at rushing the passer. With a pass rushing unit consisting of TJ Watt, Stephon Tuitt, Cameron Heyward, and Bud Dupree, any QB they face is marked for death. Enter Joe Burrow, and the Bengals terrible, and also INJURED offensive line. Burrow has been sharp to this point, and his acumen in the quick and intermediate game have helped Zac Taylor scheme around pressure, but against the best pass rushes and defenses writ large, you can’t hide completely.

As Evan pointed out the other day, Bills-Cardinals is the heaviest LSU matchup, and frankly the best overall of the week, but Panthers-Bucs has some serious appeal too when you include Joe Brady and the offensive concepts that stole our hearts.

Eagles at Giants, 12 P.M., FOX

Jalen Mills and Duke Riley are playing in this one but don’t watch it, this is going to be a horrendous display of football.

Jaguars at Packers, 12 P.M., FOX

Chark and Chaisson are fun to watch and all but this one is gonna be over in the first quarter. Green Bay has no Tigers.

Washington Football Team at Lions, 12 P.M., FOX

Nothing to see

Texans at Browns, 12 P.M., CBS

This one may actually be pretty fun, Deshaun Watson is having a fantastic year and he faces Phillips and Landry. Mayfield is also always fun.

Bucs at Panthers, 12 P.M., FOX

The darling of the early slate features Joe Brady, Devin White, LF7, Kevin Minter, and Donte Jackson. This will be fun, as Joe Brady’s offense has been extremely enjoyable thus far.

Chargers at Dolphins, 3:05 P.M., CBS

The LSU intrigue in this one extends only to Trai Turner, a guard, and Blake Ferguson, a long snapper, but a matchup between Herbert/Tua and two young, talented teams will be extremely enjoyable.

Broncos at Raiders, 3:05 P.M., CBS

Lloyd Cushenberry faces Foster Moreau and Arden Key, but beyond that this is a matchup of two of the NFL’s more boring teams.

Bills at Cardinals, 3:05 P.M., CBS

The older guard of stud LSU corners from this era meets the newer, with Patrick Peterson facing off against Tre White. This is the game of the week, as Josh Allen and Kyler Murray, 2 extremely fun QBs, lead their very good teams into a major indoor matchup.

49ers at Saints, 3:25 P.M., FOX

New Saint Kwon Alexander joins Will Clapp against a flat out decimated 49er team. A great matchup before the season, now? No.

Seahawks at Rams, 3:25, P.M., FOX

This one is for a lot of marbles in the NFC West race, a great matchup here between the NFL’s best offense and a modern, effective LA defense. Aside from Jamal Adams, all the LSU intrigue is in the trenches, with Damien Lewis and Ethan Pocic across from Michael Brockers, and Andrew Whitworth at tackle for LA.

Bengals at Steelers, 3:25 P.M., FOX

Not only is Burrow about to get assaulted for half the game, he’s throwing into insanely high winds. Gulp. Also Jerald Hawkins is here.

Ravens at Patriots, 7:20 P.M., NBC

Two limping offenses try to figure it out, but the Ravens are a far better team overall. Tashawn Bower lines up at backer for NE, while Patrick Queen, who has really been thrown into the fire as a rookie, suits up for Baltimore.

Vikings at Bears, Monday, 7:15, P.M, ESPN

Jefferson has been an absolute revelation for Minnesota. Also Barkevious Mingo is here.
