Lady Tigers picked to finish seventh in the SEC

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: MAR 06 SEC Women’s Tournament - LSU vs Mississippi State

The 2020-2021 LSU women’s basketball season starts in 10 days and now that schedules have finally been announced, preseason accolades and predictions for the SEC are rolling in.

The conference’s head coaches selected LSU’s senior guard Khalya Pointer to the preseason All-SEC first-team. She is accompanied by Arkansas’ Chelsea Dungee, Auburn’s Unique Thompson, Kentucky’s Rhyne Howard, Mississippi State’s Rickea Jackson, South Carolina’s Aliyah Boston, Tennessee’s Rennia Davis, and Texas A&M’s N’Dea Jones. Howard was also picked as the preseason conference player of the year.

Pointer finished the COVID-shortened 2020 season in the top-10 in scoring (14.8 points per game), assists (4.7) and steals (2.1).
