As the old saying goes, to the victor go the spoils and the 2019 LSU football team can add one more victory to its resume: it is sending more players to next month’s NFL Scouting Combine than any other school.

On Friday the NFL announced the 377 players invited to Indianapolis and LSU had 16 players on the list. The next closest school was Michigan and Ohio State who each send 10 prospective players, while Alabama will be sending 10.

The SEC will be sending the most players to Indianapolis, with 91 representatives. The SEC nearly had twice as many players invited than the Big 10, who is second with 53 invitees.

Depending on your perspective, the combine either means everything or nothing at all. Plenty of workout warriors have wowed at Indianapolis only to have disappointing NFL careers; and plenty of players who had a bad showing in Indy made up for it with a more than successful career on Sundays.

This year, the combine runs from February 24 to March 1; LSU also announced its Pro Day will be held on April 3. Those 16 former Tigers will have plenty of chances to run, jump, catch, throw and interview with all 32 organizations.

The invited Tigers are:

  • Joe Burrow (QB)
  • K’Lavon Chaisson (OLB)
  • Saahdiq Charles (OL)
  • Lloyd Cushenberry (OL)
  • Grant Delpit (DB)
  • Michael Divinity (LB)
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB)
  • Blake Ferguson (LS)
  • Kristian Fulton (DB)
  • Justin Jefferson (WR)
  • Rahsard Lawrence (DL)
  • Damien Lewis (OL)
  • Thaddeus Moss (TE)
  • Jacob Phillips (LB)
  • Patrick Queen (LB)
  • Stephen Sullivan (TE)
