The pandemic continues. Governor Edwards has extended the shelter-at-home order to the end of April. LSU has canceled Spring graduation ceremonies.
On Monday, the NCAA voted to grant an extra year of eligibility to all spring-sport athletes and relax certain roster restrictions so that spring sport senior mays return next year for another season. The grant does not include winter sports like basketball. D1Baseball.com has a great breakdown of what this means for baseball next year.
Right before MLB suspended operations, Kramer Robertson got a call up to spring training with the Cardinals.
Our man Delly at SI has a report of the chaos faced by international athletes trying to return home from the states after all NCAA action was stopped.
The SEC is relaxing restrictions on virtual instruction for sports teams, allowing coaches to give online classes and film study to players in all sports. The SEC has also canceled their Spring Meetings in Destin FL that were planned for the last week of May.
Track coach Dennis Shaver was named the 2020 NCAA Division I Women’s Indoor National Coach of the Year. Shaver had both Women’s and Men’s LSU’s Indoor teams ranked #1 in the country heading into the NCAA championships that were eventually canceled.
The Athletic has a great profile of early enrollee LSU QB Max Johnson, who would be at spring practice right now if not for *waves arms indiscriminately*
SEC Network is still trying to fill time, but are not doing anything to help my depression by only airing games from this year and bringing back the F-baum. I would, however, recommend you DVR the SEC Inside marathon they are running on Tuesday, April 7.
Some sad news in the Louisiana football family as Bobby Hebert Sr, father of the Cajun Cannon and grandad to T-Bob, died Saturday after recently testing positive for coronavirus.

He passed this morning and I love him and I will miss him
He loved LSU to his core and instilled that love in me

With all that’s going on, and all the sports not going on, many on the LSU beat have been reassigned or furloughed. Jacques Doucet at WAFB has been doing a pretty great job of finding good subjects for the nightly news in Baton Rouge. Here are a few highlights.
