The Minnesota Vikings added to its wide receiver core by taking former Tiger receiver Justin Jefferson with the 22nd pick overall pick.

Jefferson caught an LSU record 111 passes last season, making him Joe Burrow’s favorite target. Those 111 catches is an LSU single season record and his 18 touchdowns is second most in a season behind teammate Ja’Marr Chase’s 20.

The Vikings picked Jefferson with the extra first round pick it received when it traded wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills. With Diggs gone, Jefferson should slide in immediately and play opposite of Adam Thielen and catch a bevvy of check downs from Kirk Cousins.

Jefferson was the third Tiger selected in the first round of the 2020 Draft. Joe Burrow was selected first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals and K’Lavon Chaisson was picked 21st by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
