The Arizona Cardinals are no strangers to taking LSU Tigers and today they picked another selecting Rashard Lawrence in the fourth round of the NFL Draft, 131st overall.

Lawrence was a three-time permanent team captain and also the Fiesta Bowl Defensive MVP in LSU’s win over Central Florida. Lawrence played in 44 games and started 34 of them, registering 120 tackles, 21 for loss and 6.5 sacks.

LSU has been kind of a pipeline for Arizona in recent years. The Cardinals picked former Tigers Patrick Peterson fifth in 2011, Kevin Minter 45th in 2013 and Tyrann Mathieu 69th also in 2013.

The 2020 Draft has been a historic one for LSU and Lawrence’s selection only adds to it. LSU has had 12 former players picked, by far the most in school history. Joe Burrow, K’Lavon Chaisson, Justin Jefferson, Patrick Queen and Clyde Edwards-Helaire were all first round picks. Grant Delpit and Kristian Fulton were taken in the second round. Damien Lewis, Lloyd Cushenberry and Jacob Phillips were all selected in the third round, and Lawrence joins Saahdiq Charles as fourth round selections.
