The Joe Burrow Touchdown Bracket Sweet Sixteen: Day Seven

New, 3 comments

What was the best Joe Burrow touchdown of 2019? We’re asking you, the reader, to decide

NCAA Football: Florida at Louisiana State Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Time to close out the Sweet Sixteen with the Tiger King Region! For the second day in a row we have a matchup of two Ja’Marr Chase touchdowns. Unlike yesterday, both of toay’s entries are 50+ yard scores. Let’s get to the action.

No. 1: Ja’Marr Chase’s 54 yard dagger vs Florida

Why it should advance:

It was the knockout punch in the most epic bout Tiger Stadium saw in 2019. This game won’t go down in history books with the likes of the 1997 and 2007 matchups, but if you were in the crowd that night I’m willing to bet it was a game you won’t forget anytime soon.

I don’t really need to set the stage here. I think most of us knew LSU was going to score on this drive to make it a two-possession game, but doing it and such an explosive, boisterous fashion was ecstacy. What a goddamn night.

No. 5: Ja’Marr Chase’s 51 yard second quarter strike vs Ole Miss

Why it should advance:

Because Joe Burrow is an NFL quarterback on this play. Sensing the pressure, moving up in the pocket, dropping a perfect dime on the run... did you ever think an LSU quarterback would make this play? I always believed we would see an elite passer one day, but I’m not sure we’d see something like this. I’m not sure we’ll ever see it again.
