The LSU men’s basketball team (9-2, 3-1), winners of three straight, look to keep the momentum going against South Carolina (3-2, 1-0).
Not only has LSU won three in a row, their last two games have been thorough beatings. LSU led for the entirety of the Ole Miss game from last Saturday, and on Wednesday LSU led Arkansas by as many as 31 points.
In LSU’s way is a South Carolina team who...I can’t get a read on. Carolina has played five game all season and has only played three times since December 5. To compound things, the Gamecocks will be without head coach and renowned yeller Frank Martin.
The funny thing about tonight’s game is that it’s technically for sole possession of second place in the SEC. Since Carolina’s unbeaten in SEC play, despite only playing one game, LSU is behind the Gamecocks. And LSU needs to extend the winning streak because they need to keep pace with a really good Alabama team who just finished beating up on Arkansas. LSU plays Alabama Tuesday night for, potentially, first place.
But we can’t look that far ahead yet. There’s business to be handled and LSU ought to take care of the Gamecocks rather easily. You can see it play out on SEC Network.
