Once again the LSU Tiger alumni provided a wonderful distraction from the LSU Tigers of the present. Let’s recap what went down this week in the league.
Rams 26 at Seahawks 17
Jamal Adams had five tackles, Al Woods has one. Aaron Donald’s destruction of Russell Wilson’s middle finger wasn’t Damien Lewis’ fault so that’s a win.
NFLSU Score: 4/10
Jets 20 at Falcons 27 (in London)
Deion Jones led the Falcons with five tackles. Urban Meyer goes to London next week which is just plain hysterical.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Eagles 21 at Panthers 18
The Panthers lost but Donte Jackson didn’t. The speedster had a monster day, forcing turnovers on back to back snaps and finishing second on the team in tackles. The best part about the two turnovers is they both came at the expense of Bama guys.
FUMBLE!!!

Terrace Marshall is still coming along slowly with only two catches for 14 yards on the day. Surely he’ll get there.
NFLSU Score: 8/10
Packers 25 at Bengals 22 (OT)
You know who isn’t coming along slowly? Ja’Marr Chase.

Six catches for 159 yards. There were a few more times he had the DB beat but pressure on Burrow forced a bad throw. It’s impossible to understate just how dominate Chase has been through five games. He’s not just far and away the best rookie, he’s already one of the NFL’s best wide receivers. Frankly, none of us are surprised.
As for the game, this was a heartbreaker for us bandwagon Bengals fans. Despite two horrendous interceptions and some massive hits that caused a throat contusion (??) Joe Burrow was on the brink of out-dueling the great Aaron Rodgers. But in a game that was the poster child for a weekend of terrible kicking, the Packers wound up on top at the end.

Still, the Bengals proved they are an exciting, competitive team that can hang with anybody.
NFLSU Score: 8/10
Patriots 25 at Texans 22
Davon Godchaux had four tackles. Let’s get out of here.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Saints 33 at Washington Football Team 22
Will Clapp and Saahdiq Charles each had a couple plays as extra blockers. Nothing else to see here.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Titans 37 at Jaguars 19
K’Lavon Chaisson had maybe his best game as pro against the Titans, picking up his second career sack, 3 QB hits and a TFL. On the other side Kristian Fulton continues to play exceptionally for Tennessee.
NFLSU Score: 5/10
Lions 17 at Vikings 19
Justin Jefferson had 124 yards on seven catches. This man rolls out of bed with 100 yards receiving. Dannielle Hunter had a sack and Patrick Peterson broke up two passes. As for the Lions Michael Brockers had just one tackle. Minnesota’s doing the heavy lifting here.
NFLSU Score: 7/10
Broncos 19 at Steelers 27
Lloyd Cushenberry and Trai Turner were out there. I hope they had fun.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Dolphins 17 at Bucs 45
Leonard Fournette finally found the end zone this year and Devin White led both teams in tackles. Unrelated but I’m fucking sick of Tom Brady guys.
NFLSU Score: 7/10
Browns 42 at Chargers 47
HOLY SHIT was this a game. It may not seem like LSU was a big part of it, but you gotta look closer. Greedy Williams had a great game with a team-leading 10 tackles and a pass breakup. He in conjunction with Grant Delpit forced a huge fumble right before halftime to get the Browns a field goal. Neat!

The disappointing part of this game was Odell Beckham posting his second straight two-catch game, this time for only 20 yards. It’s pretty clear his explosive ability doesn’t mesh perfectly with the Browns’ ground and pound offense, but there’s still a long season ahead for them to figure it out.
NFLSU Score: 6/10
Bears 20 at Raiders 9
Foster Moreau didn’t have a catch, but did have a holding penalty of the opening drive that erased a touchdown and put the team in a hole the whole game. Don’t y’all fucking dare suggest Gruden to LSU.
NFLSU Score: 1/10
49ers 10 at Cardinals 17
Two tackles for Rashard Lawrence! Love that for him. Arden Key had one as well.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Giants 20 at Cowboys 44
In his first game with significant playing time Jabril Cox had a huge tackle on a goal line stand and recovered an onside kick. Neat! This game still sucked though.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Bills 38 at Chiefs 20
Tre’Davious White had five tackles and a fumble recovery as the Bills solidified themselves as the best team in the AFC. The Chiefs side was less fun as Clyde Edwards-Helaire went down with a knee injury that will keep him out a few weeks. Of course they still have Darrell Williams to keep the LSU pipeline going, but they did just sign Elijah McGuire from UL-L. Yuck!
Tyrann Mathieu is doing his best on defense but is growing increasingly exasperated with his safety counterpart, which is honestly really funny.

Colts 25 at Ravens 31 (OT)
Patrick Queen had six tackles. This game was amazing.
