Somehow it keeps getting worse!
On the very same day it was announced that sophomore corner Elias Ricks would miss the remainder of the 2021 season due to a torn labrum, it was announced that senior defensive end Ali Gaye would also miss the rest of the season for the exact same reason. I hate it here!
The injury happened in Saturday’s 42-21 loss against Kentucky. During Ed Orgeron’s Monday presser he said Gaye would miss Saturday’s game against Florida. Turns out he’ll miss all the games.
Through four games, Gaye had been having quite a nice senior season. Gaye had 19 tackles along with 2.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss.
LSU came into the 2021 season with a promising trio of pass rushers: Andre Anthony, Gaye, and sophomore BJ Ojulari. Now they’re down to one, as Anthony and Gaye were both lost for the year due to injury.
In a season from hell, this has been maybe the roughest week yet. Just this week alone LSU has lost Gaye, Ricks and Kayshon Boutte. Geaux247’s Shea Dixon broke it down painfully below:
