NFLSU Week 6 Recap

For once the current Tigers were more exciting than the former Tigers

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Washington Football Team Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

It really pains me having to write about something other than LSU punking the Gators’ sorry ass for the third year in a row, but we’ve got lots of alumni to check up on. Off we go!

Bucs 28 at Eagles 22

Leonard Fournette had his best game of the season with 127 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns. Devin White had five tackles which was well below his average but still second on the team. It’s weird seeing no LSU players on the Eagles after they had Donnie Jones for what felt like 20 years.

NFLSU Score: 6/10

Dolphins 20 at Jaguars 23

A week after the best performance of K’Lavon Chaisson’s career he only played 21 snaps and didn’t record a statistic. He’ll probably be traded to a more functional organization next year that can- *presses earpiece* wait the Jags did WHAT???

NFLSU Score: 1/10

Chargers 6 at Ravens 34

Breiden Fehoko was promoted to the Chargers’ active roster but didn’t record a tackle. Patrick Queen had three. This game being a blowout was a bummer,

NFLSU Score: 2/10

Vikings 34 at Panthers 28 (OT)

This game had one of the best Tiger-on-Tiger matchups of the season with Donte Jackson guarding Justin Jefferson for most of the day. Jets lost a fumble early but put up 80 yards on 8 catches the rest of the way. Jackson posted five tackles including a huge TFL on Jefferson as the Vikings were trying to run out the clock. Patrick Peterson went out with an injury on the last drive which is the only reason an anemic Panthers offense was able to go 96 yards to send the game to OT. Obviously it’s all Sam Darnold’s fault and Joe Brady can do no wrong. Also Danielle Hunter had six tackles and Terrace Marshall had one catch for nine yards.

NFLSU Score: 8/10

Packers 24 at Bears 14

Nobody here. Skip!

NFLSU Score: 0/10

Bengals 34 at Lions 11

HEARTBREAKING: Local man starting to believe the Bengals are a good team. Burrow bounced back from two bad interceptions going 19/29 for 271 yards, 3 TDs and a pick that wasn’t really his fault. Ja’Marr Chase continues to be Ja’Marr Chase.

So remember how people ripped the Bengals for taking Chase over Penei Sewell because everyone assumed the Bengals could only fix their O-line through the draft? Well guess what? Ja’Marr showed that HE CAN BLOCK TOO!

Michael Brockers had four tackles for the Lions, now the only winless team in the NFL. Bless them.

NFLSU Score: 8/10

Texans 3 at Colts 31

NFLSU Score: 0/10

Rams 38 at Giants 11

Andrew Whitworth blocked for a Rams offense that continues to roll. This was FINALLY the first Scorigami of the year. The Giants finally did something worthwhile this year.

NFLSU Score: 2/10

Chiefs 31 at Washington Football Team 13

Clyde Edwards-Helaire being out sucks but Darrell Williams took advantage with 89 total yards and two touchdowns. Tyrann Mathieu had five tackles in the best game of the year so far from the Chiefs defense. Saahdiq Charles played one (1) snap.

NFLSU Score: 8/10

Cardinals 37 at Browns 14

While five catches for 79 yards is a solid stat line, Odell Beckham’s chemistry with Baker Mayfield is clearly off. There were plays where OBJ was wide open and Mayfield didn’t see him. There was a 4th and short where Mayfield had him wide open but Beckham dropped it. I don’t think anyone is to blame, the scheme just isn’t a good fit I’m afraid. With both suffering injuries along with like all of the Browns, it might get worse before it gets better.

On the defensive side Greedy Williams and Grant Delpit combined for seven tackles but were baptized by the dynamic Cardinals receivers throughout the day. I really want Rashard Lawrence to get more playing time in Arizona because they are the most exciting team in the league and I want an LSU tie dammit!

NFLSU Score: 6/10

Raiders 34 at Broncos 24

Raiders looked pretty good without that asshole coach! Foster Moreau had an 11-yard catch, and Lloyd Cushenberry tried his best on a Broncos O-line that is struggling big time.

NFLSU Score: 2/10

Cowboys 35 at Patriots 29 (OT)

Jalen Mills and Davon Godchaux combined for 11 tackles. Did you know Trevon Diggs leads the NFL in interceptions?

Seahawks 20 at Steelers 23 (OT)

Jamal Adams had six tackles and Al Woods had three. Damien Lewis left with an injury but Trai Turner has been a standout on the Pittsburgh O-line.

NFLSU Score: 5/10

Bills 31 at Titans 34

It was too bad Kristian Fulton was out for this game because Titans fans have been singing his praises and it would’ve been cool to see him go up against one of the best receivers in the NFL right now in Stefon Diggs. Tre’Davious White mostly held AJ Brown and Julio Jones in check while Derrick Henry did most of the damage, a story LSU fans are too familiar with. Also I missed it the last two outings but Tory Carter was promoted to the Titans active roster and has been playing a handful of snaps. He even got a name-drop from Steve Levy while blocking for Henry on a run. Wild game!

NFLSU Score: 4/10
