Former LSU All-American shortstop Alex Bregman goes for his second World Series championship as his Houston Astros take on the Atlanta Braves.

Bregman and the Astros beat the Boston Red Sox in six games to capture the American League pennant. This is Houston’s third trip to the World Series in the past five years; the Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers for the title in 2017, but lost to the Washington Nationals in 2019.

Bregman’s had a solid October. In 10 total games (four against the Chicago White Sox in the American League Division Series, six against Boston in the American League Championship Series) Bregman is batting .281 with one home run, five RBIs, and eight runs.

Per Bill Franques, Bregman is one of 15 former Tiger baseball players to win a World Series. The most recent former Tiger to win Major League Baseball’s grandest prize was Andrew Stevenson who was part of Washington’s championship team in 2019.

Game One of the 2021 World Series starts Tuesday night in Houston. First pitch is scheduled for 7:09 P.M., and the games will be carried on FOX.
