The 2021-2022 college basketball season is on the horizon and now we have the coaches’ preseason All-SEC teams which features a pair of Tigers.

Senior forward Darius Days and senior transfer guard Xavier Pinson were both named preseason All-SEC, with Days making the first team and Pinson landing on the second team.

Last year Days had his best season in the purple and gold to date, averaging 11.6 points and 7.8 rebounds. He was the key to LSU’s success in 2020-2021, as LSU was 19-1 in games where Days went for 10 or more points. Over the course of his three years at LSU, Days has improved in all aspects of the game in each and every season and leads all active SEC players with 16 double-doubles.

Pinson transferred within the conference, coming to LSU by way of Missouri. He started 26 games last season and averaged 13 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists.

LSU’s 2021-22 season officially begins Tuesday November 9 at home against ULM. LSU scrimmaged against Nicholls State over the weekend, with the Tigers winning 74-62. Will Wade’s squad was not ranked in the AP’s preseason poll and the Tigers were picked to finish sixth in the SEC.
