After two big subtractions, LSU hoops was able to make an addition, gaining the commitment of former Missouri guard Xavier Pinson. It is unknown if he will be immediately eligible.
Pinson, a junior, was the leading scorer for the other Tigers last year averaging 13.6 points per game—a career best—to go along with 2.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists. Coming out of high school in Chicago, he was a 3-star prospect according to 247 sports with offers from Georgetown and Wisconsin, among others.
The 6’2” 170 pound guard picked a good time to join LSU. With the departures of Javonte Smart, Trendon Watford, Darius Days, and the expected departure of Cam Thomas, LSU is losing most of its top scorers and Pinson’s scoring touch would be a welcomed add for the 2021-22 season.
Pinson is the second transfer LSU has added this season, with Seneca Knight opting to join LSU from San Jose State earlier this spring.
