Playing in the final home weekend series, the LSU offense went off for 13 runs as the Tigers took the series from Alabama.
Gio DiGiacomo led the way with a three-hit day and hit his first two home runs of the season. DiGiacomo blew the game open in the third with a three-run blast to right field and went opposite field in the eighth.

But the power surge wasn’t limited to just DiGiacomo, as Cade Doughty and Cade Beloso both went deep. Doughty got LSU on the board in the first inning with a two-run home run to left, and Beloso hit a solo shot to left field in the second.
As a team eight different batters picked up a hit, and LSU finished with 16 total. DiGiacomo, Dylan Crews and Tre Morgan each had three hits.
Meanwhile on the mound, Ma’Khail Hilliard has continued to shine as LSU’s new Sunday starter. Hilliard went five innings on Sunday and struck out seven. Hilliard earned the win, improving his record to 5-0 on the season and LSU’s Cody Worsham broke down the numbers since moving into the weekend rotation.

Freshmen Garrett Edwards and Ty Floyd each pitched two innings and were effective in relief. Floyd was particularly tough Sunday only allowing one hit and struck out three.
LSU has one more game inside Alex Box set for Tuesday against Northwestern State. From there the Tigers will close out the regular season in College Station against Texas A&M.
