The Tigers secured the transfer of Georgia safety, and Baton Rouge native safety, Major Burns. He announced the decision on his Twitter account.

Burns was a long time LSU commit in the class of 2020 who ultimately flipped to Georgia late in the process. In his one season at Georgia, Burns logged five tackles in six games.
A Madison Prep product, Burns put his name in the transfer portal on May 3. Even though he is transferring within the conference, Burns will still be immediately eligible to play in 2021.
The addition of Burns is part of a massive overhaul as LSU looks to improve safety play. A four-star, top-200 recruit in the class of 2020 Burns joins a potentially loaded safety group with Sage Ryan and Derrick Davis. Optimism is high, in spite of Burns having a bad name for a defensive back.
