Basketball roster continues to shift

Been a lot of up and downs as far as roster management of the men’s basketball with the Tigers landing a commitment from class of 2022 guard Justice Williams last week, while also seeing Josh LeBlanc enter the transfer portal earlier this week.

Williams is a four-star shooting guard originally from Philadelphia, but has been playing at hoops power Monteverde Academy in Florida. He is the 33rd ranked player overall in his class, and the third ranked shooting guard in the nation.

He joins forward Devin Ree, a fellow four-star recruit, as LSU’s two commitments for the 2022 class. Ree is the 62nd ranked player, the 15th ranked small forward and is currently deemed by 247 as the state of Mississippi’s best player. LSU’s class is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation, trailing only Ohio State and UCLA.

Meanwhile, the men’s basketball 2021-2022 roster will continue to look very different than last years squad with the departure of LeBlanc.

LeBlanc had actually been on the roster for two years but only has one year of playing time, after having to sit out due to NCAA transfer rules. He was one of Will Wade’s key bench players this past year, averaging 3.2 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game.

Seneca Knight, a transfer for San Jose State, also entered the transfer portal this week having never played a game at LSU.
