It was originally announced that LSU’s opening round regional game vs Gonzaga, with it’s 9pm CT start time, would air online only on ESPN3, but a change has been made and ESPN now says the game will air on ESPNU. The first game of the regional, Central Conn. State vs No. 14 Oregon, will air at 5pm CT on ESPN3. Channels for all NCAA tournament games beyond the first round of the tournament will be selected as the weekend progresses.
ESPN has also announced the TV crews for all 16 regionals. Some of ESPN’s best teams are sticking together, like Dave Neal and Chris Burke going to Lubbock for the Texas Tech regional, Tom Hart and Kyle Peterson heading to Ole Miss, and Mike Morgan and Todd Walker calling Notre Dame. The Eugene regional is getting LSU’s favorite son and home SECN+ broadcaster Ben McDonald paired with ESPN mainstay Clay Matvick. You can see ESPN’s full schedule, announcing teams and details about the Squeeze Play whip-around coverage on their site.
And for no reason in particular, here’s Ben McDonald and a baby deer.
