Softball

Team USA and LSU assistant coach Howard Dobson will play in the Gold Medal game Tuesday morning at 6am CT. As of publish time USA still has one more group stage game vs Japan on Sunday evening, but their 4-0 start has locked them into the championship.

3B Amanda Sanchez and Mexico have a 1-3 record and will play also 1-3 Australia at 6am Monday for a spot in the Bronze medal game later on Monday night.

Soccer

Allysha Chapman and Team Canada are 1-1 in group play and will face their group leader Great Britain on Tuesday morning. Women’s soccer quarterfinals start on Friday morning.

Basketball

Sylvia Fowles and the US women’s team start group play against Nigeria on Monday night and Japan on Thursday night.

Duop Reath and Team Australia beat Nigeria in their first game and will play Italy on Wednesday morning as Group play continues.

Tennis

All Tennis scheduling is done just a day before, so it’s very hard to follow and find. It airs on TV primarily on the Olympic Channel.

Michael Venus playing doubles for New Zealand won his first match v Belarus and will play the Netherlands Sunday night. Neal Skupski playing doubles for Great Britain won his first match v Argentina and will play Japan Sunday night.

Swimming

Brooks Curry (and his jorts) and Team USA dominated their qualifying heat for the Men’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay. The Final is Sunday Night at 10pm and will air on NBC.

Later this week Juan Celaya-Hernandez will dive for Mexico. The Final for Men’s Synchronized 3m Springboard will air at 1am on Wednesday.

Track & Field

Next weekend will be big for LSU, but the groups starts slowly on Thursday. Kelly-Ann Baptiste for Trinidad & Tobago in the Women’s 100m, qualifying heats start Thursday night.

JuVaughn Harrison will become the first man since Jim Thorpe to compete in High Jump and Long Jump in the same Olympics. High Jump qualifying is Thursday night, Long Jump qualifying will be early Saturday morning.

LSU Legend MONDO Duplantis, the current world record holder in multiple disciplines of the pole vault, will finally make his Olympics debut Friday with qualifying at 7:40pm.
