Cam Thomas Selected 27th Overall by the Brooklyn Nets

Thomas becomes 16th Tiger to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Louisiana State at Michigan Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Cameron Thomas is officially an NBA player.

The Brooklyn Nets selected Thomas 27th overall in the first round of Thursday night’s NBA Draft. Thomas becomes the 16th former Tiger to be picked in the first round and the first since Ben Simmons went No. 1 overall in 2016.

The billing on Thomas coming out of Oak Hill Academy is he’s a dynamic scorer and he more than lived up to the hype in his one and only year in Baton Rouge. Thomas led LSU in scoring with 23 points per game and was the fourth leading scorer in the NCAA.

Thomas and Will Wade were both inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and can someone please get Wade a tailor?

Keep it locked here on ATVS as we keep our fingers crossed that Javonte Smart and Trendon Watford hear their names called at some point tonight.
