For you gamers out there, the latest edition of Madden drops on Friday. Madden ‘22 will go against the norm and have, wait for it...TWO athletes on the cover Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. Real innovative shit by EA.
Anyway, a new Madden means we can finally play as some of our favorite Tigers since the rebooted NCAA football video game is still years away. Let’s take a gander at the ratings Madden gave out.
Joe Burrow: 77 overall
Pretty fair since his offensive line chopped his knee in half. Burrow looked to be last season’s rookie of the year winner before chaos struck. They also gave him an 83 speed rating maybe it’s not ahem DECEPTIVE after all?
Tyrann Mathieu: 95 overall
Tre’Davious White: 93 overall
Jamal Adams: 90 overall
Mathieu, White, and Adams are the first, second, and third highest rated LSU players on Madden and that makes sense seeing as they’re probably the 1,2,3 best players currently in the NFL that went to LSU.
Odell Beckham: 89 overall
Justin Jefferson: 87 overall
Despite coming off an ACL tear, Odell’s name still carries a lot of weight in the NFL. He’s the highest ranked LSU receiver ever so slightly ahead of Jets. Jefferson’s 87 rating is tied with a few others for 12th overall among receivers. It is cool as hell that Jefferson’s already thought of as one of the best at his position.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire: 84 overall
Haters, of which there are many, will say his numbers are a little inflated because he plays for the awesome Kansas City offense. Don’t listen to these people. Kansas City invested in its offensive line this offseason so hopefully we’ll see a more realized CEH in 2021.
Devin White: 85 overall
Look I know these rating things don’t really matter but Devin White is absurdly underrated. White is ranked 10th at his position. And to that I say go back and watch Tampa’s run to the Super Bowl. Watch that fast as hell wrecking ball in pewter and white ruin opposing offenses. Go watch White basically beat the Chiefs by himself and tell me there’s 10 middle linebackers better than him with a straight look on your face. You can’t.
There’s about 50 LSU guys in the NFL and I’m not about to break down every single one. So here’s a handy little table for the rest of the Tigers.
