In an off-season which saw LSU make some major additions through incoming freshman and transfers, things seem to have gotten even bigger with 2022 commit Justice Williams reclassifying to the class of 2021, setting it up to join the Tigers this Fall.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Williams has spent the past season at basketball power Montverde in Florida, the same school Ben Simmons played for prior to LSU, and is ranked as a four-star prospect, No.40 overall according to 247. He is the fourth ranked shooting guard in the class of 2022. His offer list included Alabama, Florida, Villanova and more.
In Williams, the Tigers are getting a scorer first and foremost. His 247 scouting report says that Williams is serviceable in non-scoring areas but with the departure of so many of last year’s top scorers, Williams is filling a major need for the Tigers.
Williams joins a Tiger roster that will look incredibly different from last year as the transfers, departures of Javonte Smart, Trendon Watford, and Cam Thomas, and incoming freshman mean Will Wade is going to have almost a brand new group to work with.
