NFLSU Week 16 Recap

And to all a good night

NFL: Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Week 16 of the NFL season was quite eventful for reasons other than it falling on a major holiday weekend. Time for us to go through each game and recap how LSU alumni performed.

Saints 22 at Rams 30

Tyrann Mathieu had nine tackles and a pass breakup. Foster Moreau caught one pass for 13 yards.

NFLSU Score: 4/10

Bengals 11 at Steelers 34

No Joe, no Ja’Marr, but we did get a Patrick Peterson interception. He is now up two on Harrison Smith for most career INTs among active players. Thank you for the duck Jake Browning!

NFLSU Score: 4/10

Bills 24 at Chargers 22

The Bills finally did what we’ve been begging for and promoted Leonard Fournette to the active roster. In addition to his five rushes for 20 yards he did something he hasn’t done since his freshman year, return a kickoff for 17 yards. Reid Ferguson long snapped and made one tackle.

NFLSU Score: 4/10

Browns 36 at Texans 22

Derek Stingley Jr. unfortunately fell victim to a career day from Amari Cooper, but did snag this nice interception before the half, his fifth of the year which is good for fourth in the whole NFL.

Who would’ve guessed that out of all the Browns QBs Ethan Pocic snapped to an almost 39-year-old Joe Flacco would be the best?

NFLSU Score: 4/10

Commanders 28 at Jets 30

Jabril Cox made one tackle. Saahdiq Charles blocked.

NFLSU Score: 2/10

Seahawks 20 at Titans 17

Arden Key had a whopping four tackles and one sack. I’m gonna assume it wasn’t Damien Lewis or Anthony Bradford’s faults.

Colts 10 at Falcons 29

Coal in this game’s stocking.

NFLSU Score: 0/10

Packers 33 at Panthers 30

DJ Chark had a huge game with six catches for 98 yards and two TDs! Both were in the fourth quarter to close a two touchdown deficit, and the second one in particular was very nice.

This game also featured three catches for 21 yards from Stephen Sullivan and one Donte Jackson tackle.

NFLSU Score: 6/10

Lions 30 at Vikings 24

The Vikings may be cooked, but at least Justin Jefferson is back.

Six catches including that TD and a superhero grab on 3rd and 27 to keep Minnesota’ hopes alive late.

He also recorded a tackle after one of Nick Mullens’ four interceptions. Speaking of tackles, Danielle Hunter had seven and Jay Ward had one. Ward’s was on Jahmyr Gibbs in the open field to basically end the first half. It was awesome! This game was awesome! Man I wish we had some guys on the Lions.

NFLSU Score: 8/10

Jaguars 12 at Buccaneers 30

After several weird weeks of drama, Devin White showed up in a big way with four tackles, .5 sacks and a big interception.

Trey Palmer caught four passes for 42 yards. K’Lavon Chaisson had two tackles.

NFLSU Score: 6/10

Cardinals 16 at Bears 27

BJ Ojulari had one tackle.

NFLSU Score: 1/10

Cowboys 20 at Dolphins 22

Damone Clark had seven tackles, Duke Riley had four and Blake Ferguson long snapped.

NFLSU Score: 4/10

Patriots 26 at Broncos 23

Jalen Mills had seven tackles and Davon Godchaux had two. Poor Lloyd Cushenberry III looks like he’s gonna miss the playoffs yet again.

NFLSU Score: 3/10

Raiders 20 at Chiefs 14

Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran four times for six yards, but caught four passes for 42 yards including this super impressive screen pass.

NFLSU Score: 4/10

Giants 25 at Eagles 33

Cor’Dale Flott made one tackle.

NFLSU Score: 1/10

Ravens 33 at 49ers 19

Patrick Queen, like seemingly every other member of the Ravens defense, got a big interception Monday night.

Queen finished with seven tackles, while Odell Beckham Jr. caught two passes for 13 yards. There is a new Super Bowl favorite and I’m all for it since they have Tigers starting on both sides of the ball.

NFLSU Score: 5/10
