Dominick McKinley Flips to LSU!

What a way to close out 2023

As the clock struck midnight and the East Coast rang in 2024, LSU had some early New Year’s fireworks of their own.

Five-star defensive tackle Dominick McKinley flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU as first reported by On3 Sports. McKinley is the No. 27 overall player in the 2024 composite rankings, and the No. 6 defensive lineman.

McKinley has long been considered the No. 1 prospect in Louisiana this cycle and is at a position of need. He had been committed to Texas A&M since September.

LSU never gave up on trying to flip McKinley and surely the coaching change at Texas A&M played a part, just as it did when LSU was able to flip Gabe Reliford and Coen Echols. With the addition of McKinley, LSU has landed nine of the top 10 prospects in Louisiana.

LSU’s 2024 recruiting class was ranked 9th nationally and is now up to 7th according to On3.
