Friend of the website and Yahoo’s own Ross Dellenger reported Wednesday morning that LSU and offensive coordinator have reached an agreement on a three-year contract extension.
LSU is finalizing a three-year extension to retain offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, sources tell @YahooSports.— Ross Dellenger (@RossDellenger) December 6, 2023
Denbrock, a Broyles Award finalist, led the top-ranked offense in the country this season and helped develop QB Jayden Daniels, a Heisman finalist.
Thanks to Denbrock, LSU had one of the best offenses in the country. The Tigers led the country in both points per game (46.4) and yards per game (547.8) and Denbrock helped turn Jayden Daniels into a Heisman trophy finalist.
But the chart-topping numbers don’t stop there. Geaux247’s Glen West broke it down and found that LSU leads college football in 20+ yard plays, 30+ yard plays, and 40+ yard plays. LSU’s also the only school to average 300 yards passing a game and 200 rushing.
Denbrock was named a finalist for the Broyles Award, which is given annually to the nation’s best assistant coach. Iowa defensive coordinator Phil Parker ultimately won the Broyles.
As for LSU’s other coordinator...well it’s still being evaluated.
Brian Kelly says evaluations of #LSU's staff won't finish until after recruiting ends. They spent last week doing player exit interviews.— Wilson Alexander (@whalexander_) December 5, 2023
