Greenies Shrimp Tigers, Despite 9th Inning Heroics

+

In a game shrouded in mystery due to the AAC's terrible TV contract, your Fighting Tigers of LSU fell at the hands of the dastardly Greenies of Tulane on the blasphemous carpet of Turchin Stadium last night. 9-10. LSU trailed for most of the night before scoring runs in the 7th and 8th innings and 3 runs in the Top of the 9th to take a 9-7 lead. Unfortunately, the bullpen imploded, and with the game tied, Coach Mainieri opted to load the bases and face a pitch hitter batting .156. But Matthew Beck couldn't find the strike zone and the Tigers got shrimped. The silver lining from the game was that Brandt Broussard made his return to action at 2nd base, scoring twice and getting a stolen base in the 9th that fueled the comeback. The Tigers hit the road today for a weekend at beleaguered South Carolina
